Barbados Soccer Academy has recorded its 35th scholarship winner, promising midfielder Jameel Walkes Miller has secured a four years track and field scholarship to Lindenwood University Lindenwood in Saint Charles, Missouri. Walkes- Miller is also a member of the Christ Church Foundation School track and field team. Walkes- Miller received the Barbados Soccer Academy prestigious achievement award, which is only presented to members of the Barbados Soccer Academy for their outstanding achievement in either a Barbados scholarship, sports scholarship, national development scholarship or a professional contract. Walkes-Miller is hopefully following in the footsteps of Trey Hinds a former member of the Barbados Soccer Academy , who secured a four years track and field scholarship to Wayland Baptist University and completed his first degree, and is currently completing his Master degree thru a soccer scholarship. Walkes-Miller was a member of the RBC Capital Market Barbados Soccer Academy division 1 team in 2017 that was the champions of the Barbados Football Association Division 1 league and the Division 1 reserve league. In 2018 the the team was promoted to the premier division of the Barbados Football Association league competition. Jabez ” Jack” Bovell, Director said that he is looking for Walkes- Miller to represent Barbados in the Olympics in the future.
