Aluko Callender Barbados Soccer Academy player and former student of St. Michael School secured another two years scholarship to Blue Mountain College (University) in Mississippi, USA. Callender in 2019 gained a partial two years scholarship to St. Charles Community College in Missouri, USA. He was one of the better players that help took the youthful BSA division 1 team to the Premier Division League in 2019. He further went on to represent St. Charles Junior College Cougars men’s soccer team in the NJCAA Region 16 soccer tournament. The SCC Men’s Soccer team took down St. Louis Community College in the Region XVI Championship game by a final score of 1-0.  The Cougars won in OT after a 0-0 score in regulation.  The Cougars immediately put the pressure on to start OT and won in dramatic fashion by scoring the lone goal 7 minutes into the first overtime. The Cougars have made SCC history becoming the first men’s soccer team to win a region title!

Callender will go on to represent the Blue Mountain mens’ TOPPER soccer team in the 2021 NAIA Division 1 season. Jabez “Jack” Bovell Director of the Barbados Soccer Academy that Aluko Callender has demonstrated that constant training and academic studies will lead to positive results. The mission of the BSA is to be Result- ORIENTED and to be a leader in the development and growth of soccer across Barbados and the Caribbean. The BSA has established an identity of excellence as it pursue the pathway to success on and off the field, with its primary focus being the development of players and people. The success BSA has had is based on its ability to improve all the players technically, tactically, physically and psychologically, by maintaining its brand loyalty and providing a combination of superior quality coaching and the creation of excellent opportunities for the youth of the Caribbean. The BSA main objective is to ultimately position our local and regional soccer players to showcase their soccer skills and talents to the many university and college coaches in order to secure academic, and soccer scholarships, and professional contracts. . Since the BSA was founder ten (10) years ago, its members have secured thirty three (37) soccer and academic scholarships tt USA universities. The BSA is committed to having one of the best youth programmes in the Caribbean and our goal is to expose our youth to the “best of all worlds” on the soccer field and in the classroom. The youth are aware that many benefits can be derived through association with this, the most popular sport in the world. I can attest to the fact that he is an efficient and assiduous team player, who gives of his best at all, times. I have been convinced that he is a diligent soccer player and he has great future ahead.
